Elm Creek Park Reserve. Light tracks in the northwest metro.
Hyland Lake Park Reserve. It added 5k of trails at the start of the 2013-2014 season. Here’s the big deal about it: They’ve got snowmaking equipment on them, meaning that once the weather turns cold, you can have reliable snow for your skinny skis. Bloomington.
Lake Elmo Park Reserve. Night skiing in the east metro.
Lebanon Hills Regional Park. Classic and skate skiing available. Trails for beginners are close to a cozy visitors center. South metro.
Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. If you have a membership, take advantage of it and get free Nordic skiing. West metro.
Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve. Experts only, for the most part. South metro.
Otsego Park. With views of the Mississippi River. North metro.
